Dental Probe and Explorer

A Veterinary Dental Probe and Explorer is used to assess the depth of the gingival sulcus and periodontal pockets in millimeters. The instrument is also referred to as the tooth service 'stethoscope and dipstick'. They are used on tooth enamel for the identification of tooth decay. It is used to detect low decay. At the top, it has a small point that is used to increase tactile sensitivity. The Explorers and Probes’ types include Graduated Probe Style "C", Williams Probe Explorer, Probe Explorer, Feline Periosteal Probe, Dental Explorer, Canine Periosteal Probe, Explorer Endo DG-16 Double Ended, Explorer TU17/23 Double Ended, Resorptive Lesion Probe, and Canine Probe Explorer Color Coded. These are most commonly used to search for tooth decay on the enamel surface and to detect resorptive lesions or residual calculus.
