TTA Implants (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement)
Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) damage is the most common injury found in canines. It has been observed that 20% to 40% untreated ligament injuries lead to the rupture of other limbs due to imbalance and awkward thrusting. When the CCL is torn, weight bearing movement causes severe pain and damage to the nearby tissues and muscles. This instability can lead to more severe disease such as arthritis, which causes a decline in limb function and eventually leads to lameness. Doctors use a surgical technique to fix this problem which is called Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA). In this technique doctors and surgeons change the angle of the pull onto the patella tendon advancing the tibial tuberosity. The success rate of this treatment is 90%, even with arthritic patients and stability can be achieved with a significant decrease in joint pressure. In some cases, both knees need to be operated. However, surgeons and doctors prefer Tungsten Carbide/Titanium implants because they are less reactive and less likely to be broken. Therefore, GerVetUSA has introduced new robust tools for your TTA implant surgeries which includes Bone Screws, Cages, Containers, Forks, Instrument Starter Sets and many more. These surgical instruments are affordable and long-lasting.
